Using 360° feedback to develop your leaders

High-quality 360 degree tools measure a range of key leadership competencies such as self-awareness, relating, authenticity, decisiveness and strategic focus, which research has shown correlate highly with achieving results. Individuals assess themselves against a range of leadership competencies and invite a number of colleagues and associates to provide feedback using an online survey. The resulting profile gives them insight into how they are perceived as a leader.

Strengths based model

The Leadership Circle Profile™ is a strengths based competency model. Thoroughly researched and validated, it is the only 360 degree competency assessment that simultaneously provides focused competency feedback while revealing the underlying assumptions that cause an individual’s pattern of strengths and limitations. Unlike other 360° profiles it connects patterns of action with habits of thought and enables people to gain new awareness, perception, recognition and focus.

Debrief and coaching

Once the online surveys are completed a report is produced. I work with the participant to debrief what has been revealed via their profile. This debrief is then followed up with coaching sessions to explore issues, ideas, strategies and plans to help extend and build on their leadership strengths. By shining a light on the underlying thinking patterns that drive their current behaviour, they will have access to new choices and possibilities to increase their leadership effectiveness.

David supported me to clarify and integrate my personal values and to also identify and examine limiting beliefs and habits of thought. He customised content and questions, through a timely book, shared article or our direct conversation where David astutely enquired into many things I would have not have stopped to explore myself. Through reviewing some of the latest evidence-based research into leadership development, I refined my future direction and motivation as a leader. This increased personal clarity and vision, supported by regular coaching sessions, has significantly accelerated my professional and personal development this year. It has enabled me to take a new leadership role with more confidence and deliver at a higher level for the team and the wider business. The benefit outside of work has been even more pronounced. During 2018 I've been fortunate to work with David as part of a comprehensive senior leadership development program at Enable Networks. David was engaged to deliver 1:1 coaching on my individual development plan which had its foundations in 360 feedback and via a 6-month Emotional Intelligence program. I've found David to be extremely adept at helping me to ascertain the drivers for behaviours (self and others) and is a walking library of ideas, anecdotes, books and other resources to use to help reinforce development concepts.
